Job Summary
Provide patient supervision in a safe, therapeutic setting while facilitating deliverable services and ensuring program policy execution. Conduct appropriate interventions, observe and document patient behaviors, and maintain accurate records in electronic healthcare systems. Ensure patients adhere to the day-to-day schedule and provide safe, supervised transportation to off-site appointments. Perform routine facility checks, including patient and property searches, and conduct urine testing. Document patient checks and counts, communicate across clinical, medical, and administrative departments, and assume lead duties for assigned shifts. Maintain a valid driver's license and attend all required training and staff meetings.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Registered as an Alcohol and Drug (AOD) Counselor recognized by The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS)
- Certified as an Alcohol and Drug (AOD) Counselor recognized by The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS)
- Valid California Drivers' License
- Proof of automobile insurance
- Safe driving record based on Phoenix House policy
- Proficiency in MS Office systems
- Ability to utilize an electronic healthcare record
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
- Communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced changing environment
- Ability to establish and consistently enforce appropriate boundaries with patients
- Ability to model positive behavior and demeanor
- Understanding of addiction, co-occurring models, and treatment modalities
- Understanding of patient development and family systems
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to be flexible; problem solver, self-directed; customer service-oriented, and collaborative
- Skills and ability to engage and develop a rapport with patients and families of various backgrounds

Desired Qualifications
- Six months prior experience in a related field
- Bilingual in Spanish
