Job Summary
The Recovery Specialist is responsible for developing culturally competent recovery plans, educating individuals on navigating treatment and recovery support systems, providing recovery support based on individual needs, and assisting in accessing community resources. The specialist serves as a positive role model, maintaining ethical boundaries, and collaborating with case managers to ensure engagement in services. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, a minimum of two years of recovery experience from SUD or SMI, and relevant certification as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years of successful recovery from an SUD or SMI diagnosis
- Certification as a Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Peer Recovery Support Specialist and/or as a Severe Mental Illness (SMI) Peer Recovery Support Specialist
- Valid driver’s license in good standing
- Pre-employment drug screening
