Recovery Specialist

Responsible for collecting on accounts while balancing goodwill of members with Horizon Credit Union’s business interests. Locate and notify delinquent customers by mail, telephone, email or text; address paid ahead, overdrawn, and overdue accounts; manage member relationships related to insurance problems; initiate repossession proceedings; maintain accurate records; process hardship extensions when appropriate. Key duties include monitoring late/delinquent statuses, following up on high-balance and overdue accounts via multiple channels, determining reasons for delinquency and offering solutions, communicating with co-signers, handling help-desk tickets, using an Auto Dialer, updating delinquent loan files, securing credit bureau reports, skip tracing, assisting with delinquent real-estate loans, determining when collateral should be repossessed, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and information protection requirements. Emphasis on professional member interactions, continuous process improvement, and adherence to core values.
