Job Summary
Direct and supervise the daily schedules of the Women's Recovery Program and its residents, ensuring conformance with program policies. Monitor residents' prescribed medications, refills, and disposal, while witnessing and documenting daily intake on individual sheets. Act as a counselor, lecturer, and group leader, admitting new residents in the absence of program counselors and transporting clients as necessary. Perform mandatory 30-minute rounds throughout resident rooms and property, enforcing administrative decisions regarding resident cases without altercation. Participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings and monthly in-service trainings. Requires a valid driver's license, demonstrated knowledge of the human services field and substance use disorders within the Recovery Home model, and willingness to obtain CPR-First Aid and Narcan certification. Sunday and Monday shifts from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Willing to obtain CPR-First Aid certification
- Training in Overdose Prevention / Narcan OR ability to be trained and acquire certificate
- Demonstrated knowledge of the human services field with a special knowledge in substance use and co-occurring disorders within the Recovery Home model of treatment
- Must have a base of knowledge from introductory courses in addiction and co-occurring disorders
- Course experience in the skills and techniques of a Recovery Specialist
- Must be able to communicate effectively with the staff, residents, and peers
- Ability to enforce the staff / administrative decisions around resident cases and communicates these decisions to the residents without altercation
- Ability to climb stairs to make rounds throughout the residents' rooms and areas of the building and program property while on duty
- Normal range of hearing and vision, with or without correction
Desired Qualifications
- Willing to become First Aid/CPR certified and trained in overdose prevention/ Narcan
- Possess a base of knowledge from introductory courses in addiction and co-occurring disorders
- Possess a base skill set with computer technology, particularly Microsoft Office
- Recovering individuals should possess a solid foundation with their personal sobriety and abstinence, while being active in a recovery program outside of the work environment
- Recovering substance users should have a solid foundation in their individual recovery program when addressing personal addiction and recovery needs
