Job Summary
Recovery Peer Advocate provides outreach, advocacy, mentoring, and recovery-support services to individuals seeking or sustaining recovery, engages patients to attend treatment or other healthcare services, and collaborates with patients to develop recovery plans while completing required documentation to meet standards and regulations. Requires CRPA certification or willingness to obtain CRPA and a NYS driver’s license; role emphasizes engagement with diverse populations and use of electronic medical records (Medent) where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- CRPA certification or willing to complete CRPA requirements within 60-90 days
- Current and valid NYS driver’s license
- Familiarity with targeted communities and experience with diverse patient populations
- Working knowledge of electronic medical records software (Medent) preferred, but not required
- CRPA-P requirements within 60-90 days
Desired Qualifications
- CRPA certification or willingness to complete CRPA requirements within 60-90 days
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including people with mental health and/or substance use concerns and individuals who are racial/ethnic minorities, women, LGBTQ+, and individuals living with HIV
- Strong engagement, advocacy, mentoring and recovery-support skills
- Familiarity with electronic medical records software (Medent) preferred but not required
