Job Summary
On-site Recovery Housing Manager responsible for housing oversight and accountability, conducting morning and evening breathalyzer checks, room inspections for cleanliness and safety, monitoring adherence to house rules, maintaining documentation, and ensuring nightly presence. Provides peer support to residents using recovery-oriented approaches, models healthy recovery behaviors, assists residents in accessing resources and attending appointments, and communicates concerns to leadership. Collaborates with the Director of Peer Support Services and supports drop-in center operations as needed. Backups for basic maintenance, helps maintain a clean and welcoming environment, and participates in coordinating repairs. Part-time role based in Waterloo, IA, with paid housing included; drop-in center hours include Monday and Wednesday evenings, Thursday afternoon/evening, and two Sundays per month.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of continuous recovery from substance use
- Current Peer Support Certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire
- Current and active driver's license
- Experience providing support, oversight, or mentorship to individuals in recovery
- Ability to maintain healthy boundaries, uphold confidentiality, and model recovery principles
- Strong communication skills and the ability to respond calmly and effectively in challenging situations
