Recovery Counselor

Job Summary
Provide direct support to patients through one-to-one sessions and scheduled group facilitation while engaging them in recovery-oriented activities. Complete daily patient assessments within specified timelines, ensure quality documentation, and maintain confidentiality of protected health information. Collaborate with the clinical team to promote engagement, de-escalate barriers, and assist with continuity of care plans. Participate in AA blocking, supervise patient visitation, and provide support to Recovery Support Specialists as needed. Driving duties may apply. This full-time role at Mayflower Recovery, a premier detox facility on the North Shore, requires 40 hours Tuesday to Saturday from 10 am to 6:30 pm. LADC or CADC certification is highly preferred, along with experience in substance use treatment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- 1 plus year experience in the field of substance use treatment or closely related field
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Regular and prompt attendance
- LADC or CADC certification is highly preferred
- Working knowledge of KIPU or similar health records management system
- Associate degree from an accredited college or university in behavioral health science preferred
