Job Summary
Coordinate care for families with children, including pregnant individuals, by managing complex safeguarding cases and delivering evidence-based parenting programmes. Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop integrated care plans, and provide advocacy to facilitate access to statutory and partnership services. Represent the team at critical meetings such as MARAC and child protection reviews while negotiating engagement with agencies like ReNew and MPACT. Ensure robust referral protocols for hidden harm interventions and maintain strong relationships with Children and Adult social services.
Required Qualifications
- Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field
- Experience of working with service users who have multiple risk factors e.g. domestic violence, anti-social behaviour, unemployed, poor / unsuitable housing, pregnancy related harm and hard reduction experience
- Experience of working in close partnership with key stakeholders including Children and Adult social services and safeguarding boards
- Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills
- Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice
- Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders
- Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users
- Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards
- Experience of undertaking comprehensive assessments, care- planning, case management and reviews
- Sound working knowledge of Child Protection procedures
- Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends if requested
