Job Summary
Conduct screening, assessment, and recovery planning for service users while facilitating group sessions and providing advocacy for access to partnership services. Manage onward referrals to ensure individuals access the right intervention at the right time, reducing drug and alcohol-related harm and promoting social reintegration. Support carers, service users, and community involvement through peer support and self-determination initiatives. Work with internal and external stakeholders to prioritize service user needs and maintain information governance standards. This role is based at the East Birmingham Team in Stechford and requires a strong understanding of substance misuse issues.
Required Qualifications
- Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues
- Experience of working within a similar field
- Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written
- Good IT skills
- Proactive and able to work on own initiative
- Excellent time management and prioritising skills
- Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice
- Be a supportive team player
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders
- Ability to manage change successfully
- Understand the importance of information governance processes
- Commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards
- Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills
- Contribute and oversee the learning and development of others
