Recovery Coach/Substance Abuse Case Coordinator

Job Summary

Conduct initial 24-hour in-person outreach and follow-up to families referred by the Department of Child Safety. Provide recovery education and comprehensive case management for individuals throughout every phase of the recovery journey, from pre-engagement to sustained maintenance. Assist clients in identifying personal goals and developing individualized service plans, while promoting self-advocacy and coordinating community resources. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, review collateral information including judicial records and psychological evaluations, and submit referrals for Substance Abuse Assessments. Deliver ongoing support, education, and detailed documentation of services through monthly progress reports and billing in Agency and DCS software systems. Maintain Level One fingerprint clearance and work evening and weekend shifts as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in a human service or behavioral health-related area of study
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with at least three years of related experience including working with multi-problem families in the field of substance abuse, child welfare, or behavioral health
  • Must have been a behavioral health service recipient or substance abuse recipient
  • Must be substance-free for a minimum of six months following treatment
  • Must have been a behavioral health service recipient or substance use treatment recipient and completed identified goals and objectives
  • Must be a paraprofessional with training (or be able to obtain paraprofessional certification within 90 days of employment)
  • received a certification in a substance use disorder or Recovery Coach Program

  • Must be able to visually and auditory assess and interact with clients to ensure their safety and wellbeing
  • Valid AZ driver's license
  • reliable transportation and ability to show proof of registration/insurance
  • Level One Fingerprint clearance or ability to obtain fingerprint clearance
  • must maintain clearance
  • You must be 21 years of age or older to drive on behalf of Catholic Charities
  • willingness to be on-call for emergencies
