Job Summary
Recovery Coach- Non Certified: A role serving as a personal guide and liaison for individuals with substance use disorders in WVU Medicine affiliated treatment settings. Provides outreach and recovery check-ups on site and in the community, helps link patients to outpatient treatment, and supports development and monitoring of individualized wellness plans, while serving as a liaison to patients’ formal and informal supports and to the treatment team. Requires High School Diploma or Equivalent; completion of state or nationally recognized Peer Recovery Support Specialist Certification within 90 days; PRSS-SUD certification within one year; and background checks. Preferred qualifications include a valid driver’s license, CCAR Recovery Coaching in the Emergency Department, and active recovery participation for two or more years with regular attendance at community recovery meetings.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Completion of state or nationally recognized Peer Recovery Support Specialist Certification training within 90 days of hire date
- Peer Recovery Substance Use Disorder Peer Recovery Certification (PRSS-SUD) through the West Virginia Certification Board for Addiction and Prevention Professionals (WVCBAPP) within one (1) year of hire
- State criminal background check and Federal (if applicable), as required for regulated areas
Desired Qualifications
- Valid Driver’s License
- Certificate of completion of the CCAR Recovery Coaching in the Emergency Department
- Active participation in the recovery for two or more years and current active attendance at community recovery meetings
