Job Summary

Recovery Coach Intern provides emotional and recovery-focused peer support, helps Members identify recovery goals and develop a Wellness Plan, and supports building recovery-focused routines. The role assists Members in strengthening recovery-supportive relationships, navigating treatment and social service systems (including probation, child welfare, and other systems), and addressing practical needs such as transportation planning and housing stability. The position involves collaboration with Clinicians, Recovery Support Navigators, and interdisciplinary teams, documentation in an electronic medical records system, and participation in weekly supervision. The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, lived recovery experience, RCA and ECRC training, strong communication and time-management skills, and a valid driver’s license with access to a car; bilingual Spanish/Portuguese is preferred. Location is on-site at CBRS programs in New Bedford, Brockton, Plymouth, Taunton, and Hyannis, MA, with part-time schedule (20 hours/week). The program emphasizes culturally responsive, strengths-based services and compliance with relevant regulations (42 CFR Part 2 and HIPAA). Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Lived experience with substance use and recovery
  • Completion of Recovery Coach Academy (RCA) and Ethical Considerations for Recovery Coaches (ECRC) trainings
  • Ability to work respectfully and effectively with diverse backgrounds
  • Understanding of professional boundaries and ethics in peer support roles
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to learn program-specific systems, including electronic medical records
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-based program
  • Compliance with 42 CFR Part 2 and HIPAA
  • Courteous, professional, recovery-focused demeanor
  • Strong time-management and responsiveness
  • Must provide emotional, social, and recovery-focused peer support
  • Must assist Members with recovery goals, Wellness Plans, and routines
  • Must assist with navigating treatment, medical and social service systems
  • Must document patient engagements in EHR system
  • Must participate in required supervision
  • Must provide temporary transportation as needed
  • Must collaborate with Clinicians, Recovery Support Navigators, Community Support Navigators
  • Bilingual Spanish and/or Portuguese speaking, preferred
