Job Summary
Tend to customer shopping needs by greeting, interacting, and monitoring shoppers for loss prevention while merchandising and organizing hard goods, accessories, and clothing racks. Examine the sales floor to ensure merchandise is well-stocked, well-maintained, and properly sized, then assist in maintaining store appearance and keeping the area clean and safe. Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Team Lead or Production Team Leader. This role supports Goodwill Dallas's mission to recycle and resell donated goods across 18 stores and a regional hub, keeping millions of pounds of reusable items out of landfills while investing generated dollars back into employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to adhere to the organization's Core Principles
- Knowledge of textile articles related to quality and garment classification (gowns, shirts, pants, etc.)
- Knowledge of retail and/or stock handling
- Ability to listen and follow directions
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
- Previous retail and/or stock handling experience
- Level 1 Math Ability: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Level 1 Language Ability: Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words. Ability to print and speak simple sentences
- Level 2 Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
- Vision abilities required by this job include: close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Standing and walking for long periods of time
- Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, push and pull
- Sufficient mobility to turn from side to side and the ability to lean and remove items from containers
