Job Summary
Recovery Advocate responsible for supporting individuals on their recovery journey within the Youth & Family Services division. The role includes serving as a role model, mentor, advocate, and motivator to individuals in recovery; evaluating and monitoring progress toward recovery goals; providing recovery education and coordinating services, resources, and programs to help clients achieve service plan goals; documenting progress monthly; ensuring service hour goals are met; coaching clients toward self-directed recovery; and providing referrals and crisis intervention as needed. Successful candidates will share personal recovery experiences, develop authentic peer-to-peer relationships, and pursue CRSS certification within one year. The position emphasizes collaboration with human services, child welfare systems, juvenile courts, and community providers to promote healthy outcomes; strong computer skills and a commitment to serving a diverse population are required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must obtain Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) certification within one year of hire
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Internet
- Ability to work with a diverse population
- Experience participating in personal recovery process to care for self and/or family member
- Knowledge of community support resources, housing, food assistance, government benefits programs, public insurance, education, vocation and workforce development resources
