Job Summary
Records Centre Clerk (Clerk 2) for Sydney Records Centre, part-time (50%) term role within Service Nova Scotia. responsibilities include receiving, verifying, and processing records transfers; retrieving, issuing, receiving, and re-filing records; supporting disposition activities; providing client service on records transfers, documentation, and retrieval; maintaining accurate data entry, control records, and tracking information; supporting safe and efficient operation of the Records Centre; liaising with clients and service providers; and performing related duties. Requires data-entry proficiency, attention to detail, strong organization, ability to work independently and in a team, and ability to handle up to 20 kg boxes; prior experience in a records centre, archives, warehouse, or government environment is an asset. Salary is paid bi-weekly within the posted range; employment is a bargaining unit position with NSGEU, starting July 20, 2026, and ending July 20, 2027.
Required Qualifications
- High school completion or equivalent; related training is an asset
- Several years of related clerical, administrative, records, or warehouse experience
- Experience with data entry and computerized records systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to interpret and apply procedures and documentation standards
- Strong communication skills and a client-service approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to regularly work with boxes weighing up to 20kg
- Experience in a records centre, archives, warehouse, or government environment is an asset
