Job Summary
Provide customer service and office support to the Clerk & Recorder's office by receiving and checking documents for accuracy, performing data entry, and managing real estate record searches. Answer telephones, research older documents, and assist with applications for birth and death records while processing incoming documents for permanent public record entry. Complete daily data entry tasks with attention to detail, handle payment processing in the DRIVES system, and perform basic cash handling and end-of-day reconciliation. Occasional lifting of lightweight supplies and travel to voting centers during election cycles may be required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One year customer service or administrative experience in a detailed office environment
- Ability to utilize the technology required of the position
- Willingness to learn new technologies as required
- Proficient in communication
- Ability to communicate using the English language, including written, verbal, or other communication channels
- Clear vision for reading printed and on-screen materials, including text, graphics, and data, and for viewing computer monitors for extended periods
- Adequate hearing to engage in conversations, respond to telephone calls, and interact with colleagues in a typical office environment
- Ability to maintain focus, productivity, and attention to detail while working at a desk for standard office hours
- Occasional lifting and carrying of lightweight office supplies, documents, or small packages
- Occasional bending or reaching to access office equipment, files, or supplies within standard office settings
- Ability to use a keyboard, mouse, and office equipment, demonstrating fine motor skills for typing, clicking, and manipulating documents
- Occasional short walks, or mobility, within the office premises
- Ability to work outside the established work week, such as after hours or on the weekend
- Successful completion of a pre-employment background check which will include a Criminal Background Check, Employment Verification, and Motor Vehicle Record Check
