Job Summary
Record meeting minutes, agendas, and exhibits for Advisory Council, Elders Group, Youth Council, and Membership Meetings. Prepare reports, memoranda, and correspondence as required. Coordinate and schedule meetings, distribute approved minutes and policies via email, and electronically file documents on Laserfiche. Maintain confidentiality on all matters relating to Westbank First Nation affairs.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
- Administrative Assistant or Business Administrative certificate
- Minimum of 2 years experience taking Minutes in a First Nation or other government setting
- Experience working with indigenous communities/people considered an asset
- Criminal Record Check with results acceptable to WFN
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality and uses discretion on all matters relating to the affairs of the Westbank First Nation
- Knowledge of meeting procedures and the principles and procedures of record keeping
- Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher and Access
- Ability to manage confidential material and to maintain confidentiality
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to set priorities
- Ability to prepare reports, letters and professional correspondence
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
- Ability to work independently or within a team
