Job Summary
Execute month-end close activities, complex reconciliations, and audits of financial transactions across North America affiliates. Prepare and review financial statements, trial balances, and P&L reports while ensuring accurate cost allocations and proper ledger maintenance. Provide variance analysis commentary and actionable recommendations to finance leadership, strictly adhering to US GAAP/IFRS standards. Act as a Subject Matter Expert for assigned affiliates and support internal training and process optimization within the Roche Services & Solutions center in Costa Rica. Leverage SAP modules and advanced analytics tools to streamline reporting workflows.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field
- Minimum of 4+ years of direct experience in General Ledger, Operational Accounting, or Month-End Close functions
- Hands-on experience with SAP modules (e.g., FI, CO, FA, MM) and financial close management tools (e.g., BlackLine)
- Solid understanding of financial principles (US GAAP / IFRS), financial statements, and audit requirements within a Shared Services environment
- Advanced/Fluent English is a MUST (written and spoken) for daily collaboration with US/NAM stakeholders and leadership
Desired Qualifications
- Experience or strong interest in leveraging AI tools, advanced analytics, automation (e.g., Power BI, Alteryx, Python, macros), or process digitalization to streamline reporting and workflows
- Professional accounting certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or equivalent)
