Job Summary
Supervise students during recess, lunch, and after school programming to ensure safety and positive interactions while planning and leading age-appropriate projects, clubs, sports, and enrichment activities. Reinforce school rules with consistent discipline, assist in resolving minor conflicts, and inspect facilities to maintain safety standards. Report incidents and injuries to the Program Director, maintain accurate student records, and participate in cleaning and organization of program areas. Build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff while supporting compliance with Health, Safety, and CA Community Care Licensing requirements. Full-time or part-time schedule available from August 2026 through June 2027, with summer camp continuation options.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with school-age children
- 12 college units in Child Development, Education, Recreation, Physical Education, or Human Services
- Must pass fingerprint clearance
- Must pass TB test
- Must pass pre-employment physical
- Must provide immunization record of measles and pertussis vaccines
- Must complete required training upon hire: CPR
- Must complete required training upon hire: First Aid
- Must complete required training upon hire: Mandated Reporter
- Must complete required training upon hire: Sexual Harassment and Pest Management
- Ability to work effectively with children in both structured and unstructured settings
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Ability to manage groups, maintain order, and implement engaging activities
- Flexible, professional, and positive attitude in a dynamic school environment
- Knowledge of child safety and child care licensing regulations
- Willingness to actively participate in both supervision and enrichment activities
- Regularly required to walk and/or stand for extended periods
- Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, reaching overhead, and sitting on the floor
- Must be able to lift objects weighing at least 25 lbs
- Must be available for M/T/Th/F: 9:00am–2:00pm
- Must be available for W: 9:00am–11:15am
- Must be available for M/T/Th/F: 2:45pm–5:00pm
- Must be available for W: 12:00pm–5:00pm
- School Year: August 2026 - June 2027
- Must be available for Summer Camp Job Continuation
