Job Summary
Process initial, annual, and interim recertifications while calculating retroactive rent and adjusting for income reporting discrepancies in compliance with HUD and LIHTC guidelines. Review applicant files to determine Section 8 eligibility, prepare third-party verification forms, and notify residents of upcoming recertifications. Maintain resident files, review tenant ledgers for arrears, and respond to HUD concerns as the primary compliance contact. Schedule initial interviews and apply regulatory knowledge to ensure company standards are met. Requires 4+ years of experience, proficiency with EIV reports and Yardi, and ability to work periodic flexible hours with travel.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years recertification specialist experience
- Knowledge of Section 8, LIHTC and HUD
- Experience with EIV reports
- Must have knowledge of HUD/Public Housing/Tax Credit policies and procedures
- Detail oriented and the ability to operate on a deadline driven schedule
- Possess strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work periodic flexible hours
- Ability to travel by plane and automobile
- Ability to work at property locations within or near transitional neighborhoods
- Ability to climb stairs, take elevators, bend, squat and reach overhead
