Job Summary
The Recertification Specialist - Affordable Housing role involves facilitating the annual and interim recertification processes, ensuring compliance with affordable housing program regulations. Responsibilities include managing tenant certifications using Yardi, maintaining organized audit-ready files, and preparing for inspections. The position requires strong collaboration with various departments to track recertification progress, as well as staying current on housing regulations. Ideal candidates will have over 2 years of experience in affordable housing compliance, exceptional organizational skills, and proficiency in necessary software.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in affordable housing compliance
- Strong emphasis on managing LIHTC, Rent Stabilization, Section 8, and HOME program units
- Demonstrated expertise with the NYC affordable housing regulatory environment and compliance requirements
- Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Desired Qualifications
- LIHTC Certification preferred
- NYS Notary Public license preferred
- Proficiency with Yardi or comparable property management systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word)
- Knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and the Americans with Disabilities Act
