Job Summary
Receptionist for Medical Imaging at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, performing reception functions (answering/screening/directing calls), scheduling appointments/tests/visits, maintaining personnel schedules, and providing clerical support (word processing, photocopying, mail, fax). Requires Grade XII or equivalent and three months related experience; preferred experience in Microsoft Office and healthcare settings; strong verbal/written communication and organizational skills; ability to work under pressure and exercise good judgment. Shift options include variable shifts (AM/PM) across Monday–Sunday; wage range CAD 26.06–27.58 per hour; casual status.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of Grade XII or recognized equivalent
- Three (3) months related experience
- Previous on-the-job word-processing experience
- Experience in a Microsoft Office software environment, preferred
- Experience working in a health care environment, an asset
- Excellent telephone, interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Good written communication skills
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Ability to use good judgment in assessing difficult situations
- Knowledge of general office practices, procedures and standards
- Knowledge of medical terminology, an asset
