Job Summary
Manage the front desk area daily by conducting psychiatric evaluations, operating the switchboard, and routing incoming calls to appropriate parties. Greet visitors, take telephone messages, and refer them to staff while maintaining a professional demeanor. Handle typing assignments, file documents, sort mail, and sign for incoming and outgoing packages. Enforce security measures including sign-in/sign-out sheets, visitor badges, incident reports, and fire drills. Observe laws governing client and staff confidentiality. Work onsite in support of the agency's mission to serve New Yorkers.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least Two (2) years of experience as a Switchboard Operator or Receptionist
- Must demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of the program's participants
- Good interpersonal skills to interact with staff, clients and visitors
- Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple phone lines, greet and direct participants and vistors
- Experience collaborating directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHR
- Team player and ability to work independently
