Job Summary
Answer the phone professionally and transfer calls to appropriate staff, while collecting copays and payments. Update paperwork and insurance information, ensuring all documents are scanned into patient charts for accurate EMR documentation. Maintain records regarding MIPS requirements and prepare for the next day's tasks. Task staff on check-in duties and ensure all patients are approved to return. Collect payments, document reasons for non-collection, and verify paperwork readiness. Interact with patients, caregivers, providers, and staff with politeness, courtesy, and compassion while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrates proficiency in EMR documentation and chart prep
- Understanding of what needs to be in patients' chart to provide care
- Demonstrates proficiency in scheduling and scanning documents
- Maintains accurate documentation regarding MIPS requirements
- Answering the phone professionally and transferring calls
- Demonstrates proficiency in Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, and Chrome
- Understanding of Check-In Duties Tasking to appropriate staff
- Interaction with patients, care givers, providers and other staff member is professional
- Answering telephone and transferring to appropriate staff
- Collection of copay/payments

- Notifies Supervisor of unexpected events that may cause tardiness or early departure
