Job Summary
Greet visitors in person and via phone, operate the facility phone and paging system, and serve as the first point of contact for guests while maintaining confidentiality. Perform clerical support duties, including proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and email, while implementing department policies and procedures. Assist in patient evacuation and maintain professional relationships with associates, vendors, and the interdisciplinary team. Adhere to Life Care standards, safety protocols, and the Code of Conduct. Work flexible day, afternoon, weekend, and holiday shifts as a per diem employee.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Successfully completed a secretarial science program from accredited college or university
- Minimum of six (6) months experience in a clerical role
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and e mail
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Knowledge of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility
- Ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
- Proficiency in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitation
- Ability to maintain professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Understanding of and ability to follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
- Integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care's Code of Conduct and completing mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training
- Ability to service as the first point of contact for guests and visitors in person as well as via phone in a friendly and professional manner
- Ability to effectively operate the facility phone and paging system
- Exhibition of excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
- Ability to assist in the evacuation of patients
- Dependable, regular attendance
- Concentration and use of reasoning skills and good judgment
- Ability to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
