Job Summary
Greet patients and family members in a professional, friendly, and respectful manner while directing them to the correct areas. Answer incoming phone calls promptly, verify insurance, and collect co-payments and private payments according to policy. Enter appointment times accurately into the computer, process medication and medical record requests, and maintain cleanliness in the waiting room. Handle stressful situations appropriately, balance daily deposits, and record daily statistics. Prioritize tasks to meet top needs while utilizing slow periods efficiently. Requires little direction, demonstrates initiative, and maintains positive relationships with staff and providers. Additional Spanish language skills preferred.
Required Qualifications

- Demonstrate good interpersonal skills
- Possess skills necessary to communicate effectively with patient and staff
- Competent in Microsoft Office Word and Excel
- Possess basic math skills
- Maintain discretion and confidentiality in communications
- Familiar with policies and procedures regarding reporting and release of protected health information (PHI)
- High School Diploma/GED
- Communicate verbally and in writing in English
- Must be proficient at mathematical and statistical calculations
- Reasoning ability to respond to unusual or varied situations
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, ascend and descend stairs
- Ability to handle, finger or feel objects, tools or controls
- Ability to reach with hands and arms
- Close vision
- Ability to clearly focus vision
- Ability to lift 25 pounds from the floor to waist level
Desired Qualifications
- Customer Service trained or experience
- Previous clinic, clerical and/or medical terminology experience
- Additional language of Spanish
