Job Summary
Greet visitors, direct them to appropriate services or staff, answer and forward telephone calls, take messages, schedule appointments, and handle room bookings. Manage administrative functions including screening visitors, processing donations, and maintaining the communication center for staff and service users. Adhere to Health and Safety programs and Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations to minimize risk to clients, staff, and property. Protect the confidentiality of sensitive service user information while demonstrating commitment to feminist, anti-oppression, and trauma-informed frameworks. Prioritize workload effectively using computer proficiency in databases and office applications.
Required Qualifications
- Completed education in a related field of study
- Previous experience in administrative or receptionist-based position
- Understand and utilize feminist, client-directed, anti-oppression, anti-racism frameworks and harm reduction principles
- Knowledge, skills, and experience to support/enhance a service/residential environment that is culturally safe and Trans/Gender positive
- Detail-oriented; well-organized with a demonstrated ability to appropriately prioritize workload
- Valid CPR certification (or willingness to be certified)
- Demonstrated understanding of workplace health and safety practices and understanding of an employee's responsibility under current legislation
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a residential setting
- A valid Ontario Driver's License (G) and ability to drive company vehicle
- Fluency in a language in addition to English
- An appreciation and understanding of a range of issues impacting cis women, trans and non-binary individuals including abuse, poverty, homelessness, mental health and substance use
