Job Summary
CDL-A flatbed truck driver position in Division 290 (Buffalo Grove, IL) with System Transport. Drive regional routes transporting materials such as glass, steel, aluminum, building materials, machinery, coils, and specialty metals. Recent CDL-A graduates eligible for training through May 31, 2026. Home time off most weekends for a 34-hour reset. Competitive pay including weekly and annual pay, with multiple accessorial pay components (tarps, stops, detention, border crossing, safety bonuses, tarp pay). Transition and orientation pay, comprehensive benefits available after eligibility waiting period. Roles emphasize loading/unloading, securing tarps (must be physically able to lift 90 pounds onto a 5-foot platform), safety, and adherence to company policies. Requires valid CDL-A, 21+ years old, clean driving record, background check, drug test, and Clearinghouse compliance. Eligible for various benefits and PTO accrual based on tenure.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a valid Class A CDL
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- 4+ months of driving experience required (for Recent CDL-A Grads, no experience required - we will train you!)
- A safe driving record on the road
- No more than 6 jobs in the last 3 years
- Background Check is required
- A Clean Drug Test is required
- A Clean Clearinghouse result is required
- For all flatbed driver opportunities, the driver must be physically able to lift a 90-pound tarp onto a 5-foot high platform twice
- System Transport will test this during orientation, and flatbed drivers tarp about 70% of our loads
