Job Summary
Receiving Technician responsible for inspecting incoming raw materials, ingredients, and packaging to ensure conformance with specifications, verifying receiving documentation (COAs, allergen statements, certificates of analysis), collecting samples using sanitary techniques, and documenting checks (temperature, condition, sanitation). Maintains hold logs for nonconforming materials, communicates quality concerns to Quality/Warehouse/Procurement/Production, and supports audits and training. Works in a refrigerated warehouse environment, follows GMPs/HACCP/Preventive Controls, and contributes to traceability and site quality programs. Hours are Monday through Friday with an expected 45-hour workweek. Requires a high school diploma or GED and basic data-entry/quality-documentation skills; strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and in a team.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Food manufacturing, warehouse receiving, or quality experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills (data entry, email, spreadsheets).
- Ability to read and follow SOPs, specifications, and basic quality documentation (COAs, lot codes, labels).
- Strong attention to detail and objective pass/fail decisions.
- Clear communication with cross-functional teams (Warehouse, Production, Procurement, QA).
- Working knowledge of GMPs, allergen controls, and food safety/quality systems (e.g., SQF, HACCP/Preventive Controls).
- Understanding of traceability fundamentals: lot coding, receiving documentation, material segregation.
