Job Summary
Unload truck shipments, organize product by type, and operate equipment such as a tractor and forklift. Verify incoming deliveries using a receiving calendar, label and tag products, and process receiving in the system to ensure inventory visibility. Communicate with buyers regarding discrepancies, missing purchase orders, and invoice processing. Evaluate received product for damage or subpar materials, placing incoming items in sales areas as directed by the supervisor. Maintain work area function and follow all safety policies while performing duties in all weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Experience working in a warehouse/receiving dock environment
- OSHA Trained and Certified Forklift Operator
- Experience operating a motor vehicle and a valid driver's license
- Ability to effectively communicate with team members and other departments
- Product knowledge of farm and nursery material
- Knowledge of common warehouse operations and procedures
- Ability to safely, accurately, and efficiently complete projects from start to finish
- Strong attention to detail
- Regularly required to stand; walk; bend; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and smell
- Occasionally required to sit
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds unassisted
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Work is performed outside in all types of weather
