Job Summary
Oversee the efficient operation and maintenance of the receiving area by planning, unloading, and checking in distribution shipments while verifying and merchandising all direct vendor deliveries. Manage freight flow to ensure accurate incoming merchandise, maintain equipment and a safe dock environment, and prepare outbound transfers of merchandise and fixtures. Direct the work of other Associates assisting with freight processes and act as Manager on Duty to complete assigned tasks including store opening and closing. Maintain back stock and manage the disposition of damaged goods to minimize profit loss.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 6 months experience with a mid- to large-size retailer
- Schedule flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays on a regular basis
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and delegate tasks while working within strict timeframes and deadlines
- Positive attitude and the ability to interact well with customers and associates
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to push and pull up to 35 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
