Job Summary
Plan, unload, check in, and support the merchandising of distribution shipments while receiving and verifying all direct vendor freight. Manage effective dock operations, maintain equipment, and ensure a safe, orderly exterior environment. Direct the work of other Associates assisting with freight flow, prepare outbound transfers, and design merchandise displays. Act as Manager on Duty, handling store openings and closings as assigned. Maintain back stock and manage damaged goods disposition to minimize profit loss. Requires early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 6 months experience with a mid- to large-size retailer
- Schedule flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays on a regular basis
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and delegate tasks while working within strict timeframes and deadlines
- Must have a positive attitude and the ability to interact well with customers and associates
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to push and pull up to 35 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
