Job Summary
Plan, unload, check in, and support the merchandising of distribution shipments while receiving, verifying, and merchandising all direct vendor shipments. Manage effective freight flow in the receiving area, maintain equipment and a safe dock, and prepare outbound transfers of merchandise and fixtures. Direct the work of other Associates assisting with freight flow processes and act as Manager on Duty to complete additional responsibilities including store opening and closing. Adhere to company standards for accurate incoming merchandise and set up merchandise displays. Requires a high school diploma, six months of retail experience, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Schedule flexibility includes early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 6 months experience with a mid- to large-size retailer
- Schedule flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays on a regular basis
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and delegate tasks while working within strict timeframes and deadlines
- Positive attitude and the ability to interact well with customers and associates
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to push and pull up to 35 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
