Job Summary
Plan, unload, check in, and support the merchandising of distribution shipments. Receive, verify, and merchandise all direct vendor shipments while managing effective freight flow and maintaining a safe, orderly dock. Direct the work of other Associates assisting with freight processes and act as Manager on Duty to complete assigned tasks including store opening and closing. Maintain back stock and manage the disposition of damaged goods to minimize profit loss. Adhere to company standards for incoming merchandise accuracy and display design.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 6 months experience with a mid- to large-size retailer
- Schedule flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays on a regular basis
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and delegate tasks while working within strict timeframes and deadlines
- Positive attitude
- Ability to interact well with customers and associates
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to push and pull up to 35 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
