Job Summary
Unloads incoming raw material, purchased parts, and outsourced goods, then weighs or counts items to verify against packing lists. Records received quantities into the MRP system and marks materials with identifying information after opening containers. Conveys materials to production or storage areas, sorting items on racks according to size, type, or product code. Reads production schedules and work orders to distribute items to workers or assemble customer orders for palletizing and shipping. Delivers receiving paperwork to Accounts Payable and maintains inventory records while using a computer to enter data. Frequently lifts up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds in an environment with loud noise and outside weather exposure.
Required Qualifications
- Six months experience as Shipping/ Warehouse B
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole, fractional and decimal numbers
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
- Handle problems involving variables in a standardized situation
- Ability to make decisions and know when/where to make concessions
- Ability to read tape measure accurately
- Ability to adjust focus
