Job Summary
Direct and oversee warehouse operations for each retail store, supervising specialists, order pickers, and forklift operators while managing daily freight schedules. Schedule warehouse personnel to ensure proper manning for shipping and receiving, directing day-to-day activities including storage buy transactions, inventory control, and equipment maintenance. Ensure all associates follow standard operating procedures, handle employee inquiries, and resolve discrepancies with shipping and invoices. Monitor paperwork flow, execute storage buy audits, and rotate inventories to conserve space while maintaining a safe workplace compliant with OSHA regulations. Complete necessary activity reports for management and coordinate with other departments to facilitate efficient warehouse operations.
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years of previous supervisory experience
- preferably in a warehouse or distribution center environment
- Excellent interpersonal, team building, delegating and follow-up skills
- Ability to work with and maintain effective working relationships with other departments in the company
- Effective communication skills (oral and written)
- Competent in performing basic mathematical calculations
- Strong computer skills, with the ability to work in Windows-based systems
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet established deadlines
- Available to work extended hours, especially during peak seasons
- Ability to exert 30 – 60 pounds of force occasionally, and or 20-30 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry push, pull, or otherwise move objects
- Ability to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel
- Ability to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
