Job Summary
Supervise and coordinate the Receiving Department by preparing and receiving company products, raw materials, and ensuring timely fulfillment through duty assignments. Manage inbound and outbound carriers, assign trailer dock locations, and resolve conflicts during loading and unloading while ensuring all employees receive proper training. Verify raw materials meet quality standards, maintain accurate receiving documents, and oversee product shipping in proper rotation. Complete regulatory and operations paperwork, maintain inventory of receiving supplies, and create work orders for equipment maintenance. Collaborate with all departments to ensure efficient operations and compliance with safety requirements, food safety standards, and labor agreements. Respond to after-hours trailer incidents as needed. Work 10-hour days and 6 to 7-day weeks as required.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or possess comparable skills and experience in a logistics environment
- 2 years of supervisory/management experience
- Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Ability to motivate, coach, and direct people
- Experience with conflict resolution
- Experience working in a union environment
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with an ERP program
- Must be able to work 10-hour days and 6 to 7-day weeks as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Logistics
- Experience with a WMS program
