Job Summary
The Receiving Specialist manages freight processing to keep store departments stocked, handling inbound freight and outbound shipments via UPS, FedEx, USPS, and trucking. Responsibilities include organizing the receiving area, maintaining safety and inventory accuracy, transferring merchandise between stores and distribution centers, handling returns/recalls/defectives, and communicating with Purchasing and Finance. The role supports the store team under the Assistant Store Manager, performing duties as needed, and requires forklift/pallet jack/box crusher-baler operation, strong communication, organization, and familiarity with Windows-based systems. Physical duties include standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs; a forklift certification/ability is required. Required Qualifications
- Be able to train on and safely operate a forklift, pallet jack, and box crusher/baler
- Demonstrate strong communication (written, oral, and interpersonal) skills
- Have strong organizational skills
- Exhibit a positive attitude and a demonstrated practice of learning
- Excel in a fast-paced, evolving work environment
- Be Familiar with standard concepts and practices within the retail environment
- Have proficient Windows-based computer skills – especially with Microsoft products
