Job Summary
Load, unload, and organize donations including clothing, furniture, and household items to maximize trailer space and storage efficiency. Assist drivers on routes for donation pick-ups by helping to load and secure items while maintaining organized inventory in designated areas. Collaborate with team members to support overall thrift store operations by promptly responding to demands, ensuring efficient work processes, and adapting to various weather conditions. Work comfortably in a noisy, fast-paced environment with bright lighting, requiring physical stamina to lift up to 70 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and carry it for short distances
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects, with extended periods of standing, walking, bending, and lifting
- Visual acuity to read road signs, maps, and operating instructions
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling bags and boxes
- Strong back and abdominal muscles to maintain proper posture while lifting heavy objects
- Ability to work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow
- Good hearing to detect warning signals and communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors
- Ability to work effectively in a noisy environment
- Ability to work effectively in a bright environment
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and busy environment
- Fundamental understanding of written and spoken English for comprehending instructions, reading street signs, as well as the ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English
