Job Summary
Inspect incoming materials, components, and purchased parts for compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards using precision measuring equipment like calipers, micrometers, and thread gauges. Verify part numbers, quantities, dimensions, and material identification while reviewing vendor documentation such as Material Test Reports and certificates of conformance. Identify shipping damage, contamination, or nonconforming items, segregate suspect materials, and document findings in the ERP/MRP system. Collaborate with Receiving, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to prioritize inspections and support continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain organized inspection records and calibration status for equipment to ensure traceability and meet internal audit requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
- Ability to perform dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and fabricated components
- Ability to compare inspection results to specifications and acceptance criteria
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
- Ability to learn ERP/MRP systems
- Basic understanding of quality inspection methods
- Ability to learn ASME and company quality requirements applicable to incoming inspection
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong observation skills
- Mechanical aptitude and sound judgment

- Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Technology, Mechanical Technology, Quality Assurance, or a related technical field
- One to three years of manufacturing, inspection, fabrication, machining, warehouse, or industrial experience
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, or other precision measuring equipment
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Previous ERP/MRP experience
- Experience reading engineering drawings or blueprints
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and climb stairs or ladders
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 65 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to frequently use hands and fingers to handle tools, inspection equipment, and small components
- Ability to frequently distinguish colors, markings, dimensions, and defects
- Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, computer screens, and inspection documentation
- Ability to safely operate inspection equipment and material handling devices after appropriate training
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hats, gloves, safety-toed footwear, and other PPE as required
- Must be available for Thomasville, GA location
