Job Summary
Receiving Department Manager role in a grocery/retail setting focused on leading the Receiving department to ensure smooth daily operations. Responsibilities include hiring, motivating and mentoring Team Members; coaching and training to maintain productivity and engagement; resolving issues with staff and customers; upholding health & safety, food safety and loss prevention; managing merchandising, inventory, scheduling, and achieving financial objectives; implementing initiatives aligned with company goals; monitoring local market conditions and providing exceptional service to Team Members, Customers, and Vendors. Requirements include post-secondary education with a minimum of 2 years in food retail, 1-2 years of supervisory experience, Certified Forklift Operator and trainer certification, knowledge of Employment Standards, WHMIS, Food Safety and Loss Prevention, temperature control, and RF gun expertise; strong communication, organizational, and leadership capabilities; willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and travel to support off-site events. Required Qualifications
- Post secondary education
- minimum of 2 years of food retail experience
- 1-2 years supervisory/leadership experience
- Certified Forklift Operator and certified trainer
- Knowledge of Employment Standards, WHMIS, Food Safety and Loss Prevention practices
- Knowledge of temperature control
- Radio Frequency gun knowledge
- Ability to verbally communicate with customers and staff
- Strong organization and tactical planning skills
- Strong initiative and work ethic
- Ability to work in a high paced time constrained environment
- Strong leadership, motivation, coaching, development and mentoring skills
