Job Summary
Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against purchase orders, packing slips, and bills of lading. Inspect goods for damages, shortages, or discrepancies and report issues promptly. Accurately record received materials in inventory management systems and label, sort, and route items to designated storage or production areas. Maintain organized receiving and storage areas while operating material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, quality, and production teams regarding received materials and assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and reconciliation activities. Process returns, rejected materials, and vendor discrepancies as required. This role supports efficient warehouse and production operations by ensuring inventory accuracy and maintaining compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to stand, walk, bend and lift throughout the workday
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely
- Ability to work in warehouse, manufacturing or distribution environments with varying temperatures and noise levels
- Ability to communicate in English
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and purchase orders
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic mathematical skills for counting and inventory verification
- Familiarity with warehouse safety procedures
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-2 years of warehouse, shipping/receiving, inventory control or related experience
- Experience using ERP, WMS or inventory management systems
