Job Summary
Receiving Clerk responsible for verifying and processing incoming shipments, storing and distributing materials, and maintaining inventory accuracy. Key duties include counting/weighing articles, examining stock for specifications, organizing in bins or on shelves, marking codes, distributing stock to production, cutting stock to fill shortages, moving materials to departments, and using a computer to access location, lot number, purchase/work orders. Role also involves contributing to Quality Circle activities, following procedures, keeping work areas clean, performing basic maintenance on material handling equipment, and lifting/moving up to 50 lbs. Requires a high school diploma or GED, basic computer skills, ability to read/write simple information, and basic arithmetic.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Shipping & receiving experience is preferred, but other acceptable experience includes warehouse, stockroom and receiving in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs. and frequently up to 50 lbs.
