Job Summary
Greets customers within ten feet and four seconds of contact, then receives products from vendors while checking merchandise against invoices and processing approvals. Sorts and restacks pallets in the warehouse, oversees proper placement, and maintains cleanliness. Monitors delivery truck traffic to control vendor flow through the back room and ensures safety forms are completed daily for all machinery. Operates forklifts and pallet jacks, verifying hydraulics, oil, water, and propane levels. Makes credits available in a timely manner and enforces security measures to prevent losses. Requires standing for long periods, carrying up to 60 pounds, and pushing or pulling up to 1,000 pounds. Must be at least 18 years old to operate machinery.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age to operate machinery
- Previous experience working with the public
- Knowledge of location of products and product familiarity
- Working knowledge of grocery vendors
- Basic mathematical knowledge and computer skills to fax and email
- Able to use fork lift, electric and manual pallet jack, check hydraulics, oil, water, propane for proper working order
- Able to use a DSD smart gun
- Able to multitask, listen to directions and follow through independently
- Able to deal with difficult vendors, have good communication and observation skills
- Able to work independently
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds
- Must be able to push and pull up to 1000 pounds
- Must be able to bend to pick up and restack pallets
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to walk frequently in a grocery warehouse
- Must be able to use proper safety procedures
- Must be able to complete safety forms for all machinery on a daily usage basis
- Must be able to monitor traffic of delivery trucks
- Must be able to control the flow of vendors through the back room
- Must be able to verify that the correct products are being received from vendors
- Must be able to receive products from vendors
