Job Summary
Receiver at Sprouts Farmers Market is responsible for receiving store products from vendors, inspecting for temperature (for perishables), shortages, overages, damages and quality, managing backroom storage with basic math and organization, handling all receiving paperwork, and communicating with the store team and vendors. The role requires independent work, attention to detail, ability to perform basic math operations, use a pallet jack, and lift/move products up to 60 lbs (and up to 1000 lbs with equipment) through the backroom, while supporting flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. The position emphasizes customer-service oriented operations in a fast-paced grocery environment with adherence to safety, health, and sanitation procedures and opportunities for benefits and growth.
Required Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age; possess a high school diploma or GED and 1-2 years receiving experience; or an accepted combination of education and experience
- Be dependable and reliable with flexibility to work a schedule that changes with the business, including nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to work independently with strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Ability to receive all product for the store and inspect for temperature (if perishable), shortages, overages, damage, and quality
- Knowledge of proper retail receiving, simple math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and basic computer skills
- Ability to move/transfer products weighing up to 60lbs., from 5” to 56”, for up to 30 feet for up to 30 hours without mechanical assistance
- Must use a pallet jack to transfer products weighing up to 1000 lbs., up to 15 feet for up to 40 hours
- Vision to review invoices and monitor incoming product
- Maintain courteous relationships with drivers and vendors
- Adheres to Sprouts standards for receiving practices and health/sanitation procedures
- Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates
