Job Summary
Receiver at Sprouts Farmers Market is the backroom gatekeeper for store products, responsible for inspecting incoming items (including perishable goods) for temperature, shortages, overages, damages, and quality; managing backroom storage with basic math and paperwork; communicating with vendors and store leadership; and performing duties with independence in a fast-paced retail environment. The role requires lifting up to 60 lbs., pallet-jack operation for up to 1000 lbs., and using basic computer skills, with hours that vary by business needs. Responsibilities emphasize attention to detail, accuracy in receiving, and coordination with third-party vendors to ensure proper Retail receiving practices.
Required Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years old
- Possess a high school diploma or GED or equivalent
- 1-2 years receiving experience or an acceptable education/experience combination
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to receive all store products and inspect for temperature, shortages, overages, damage, and quality
- Ability to perform basic math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and use basic computer knowledge
- Ability to move/transfer products weighing up to 60 lbs., from 5" to 56" for up to 30 hours without mechanical assistance
- Must use pallet jack to transfer products weighing up to 1000 lbs., for up to 40 hours
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with team members and vendors
- Commitment to retailer receiving procedures and health/sanitation standards
- Ability to work independently and maintain effective communication with store team and vendors
- Vision to review invoices and monitor incoming product
- Willingness to work varied hours/days as business dictates
- Comfort with physically demanding tasks and safety practices
