Job Summary
Merchandising and customer-service focused role at Total Wine & More in Bakersfield. Responsibilities include maximizing product inventory, processing freight, organizing and distributing inventory, building displays and end caps, placing signage, fulfilling online orders, assisting with in-store and curbside pick-up and delivery services (including driving if assigned), and delivering an exceptional, personalized shopping experience. Train in wine, spirits, and beer to build product knowledge; maintain awareness of advertisements, promotions, and loyalty programs; ensure store safety and compliance with alcohol sale regulations; perform cross-functional duties and adapt to seasonal needs. Internal title for the role is Merchandiser, reporting to store management, with both part-time and full-time opportunities and potential for non-seasonal progression.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in a retail setting preferred
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, walk and stand 8-10 hours, climb ladders
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Knowledge of alcohol laws and maintaining a safe, compliant store environment
