Job Summary
Receiver at Family Farm and Home is responsible for verification and processing of incoming/outgoing freight, ensuring inventory accuracy, and assisting the store manager in maintaining low shrink. Responsibilities include receiving and sorting shipments, operating a forklift and/or pallet jack safely, processing special orders, tagging items with security tags, maintaining backroom organization, checking in inbound merchandise, overseeing inter-store transfers, processing damage claims, stocking freight, responding to customer service calls, and maintaining backroom tools and supplies. The role requires strong communication, customer-service orientation, organizational skills, data-entry accuracy, and physical ability to stand for long periods, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Customer service oriented and team oriented
- Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks
- Ability to distinguish between similar products; accurate counting
- Accurate data entry into the store inventory control system
- Knowledge of basic computer systems
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to climb ladders, reach, bend, twist, kneel
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and stock items in overhead areas
