Job Summary
Receiver role in New York team focusing on receiving and verifying incoming food and beverage deliveries, ensuring quantity/quality compliance, maintaining traceability with Julian Sticker System, adhering to HACCP/FIFO and labeling standards, distributing items to storage areas (dry, coolers, freezers; meat, fish, produce), breaking down pallets and labeling items, maintaining a clean receiving area, conducting inventory checks, and collaborating with team to meet department goals. Requires minimum 2 years in receiving/storing/handling merchandise (preferably in food), ability to work in a fast-paced environment, lift/move heavy items, strong organizational skills, ability to work independently and with others, comfort with varying temperatures, and flexibility to work diverse shifts. Pay is $21.35 hourly.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in receiving, storing, or handling merchandise, preferably in the food industry
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a heavy workload and prolonged standing
- Capable of moving, lifting, carrying, pulling, or pushing heavy items as needed
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working in varying temperature environments, including cold storage areas
- Outgoing personality with a hands-on approach
- Flexibility to work different shifts (days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts)
