Job Summary
Receive incoming shipments, verify materials against purchase orders and bills of lading, and inspect products for damage or discrepancies. Document shortages and enter receiving data accurately into enterprise software while coordinating with purchasing and warehouse staff to resolve issues. Assist with daily truck dispatching, organize delivery schedules based on order readiness and driver availability, and prepare route sheets for drivers. Track delivery progress, update routing systems, and prioritize work when schedules change. Serve as a communication link between drivers, sales personnel, and operations management to ensure efficient outbound deliveries. Full-time Monday-Friday 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to read and understand purchase orders, packing slips, delivery tickets, bills of lading, and route documents
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adjust quickly when schedules change
- Ability to remain professional and calm when handling delays, delivery problems, or competing demands
- Experience working with an enterprise software system such as DMSI Agility, Epicor, Netsuite, SAP, Etc.
- Experience working with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
Desired Qualifications
- One to three years of experience in receiving, dispatching, transportation coordination, logistics, distribution, customer service, or a related role
- Experience working with delivery drivers, route schedules, shipping documents, or warehouse operations
- Experience using dispatching, routing, inventory, order-management, or business software
- Knowledge of the New England and Northern New York geographic region
